In 1931, George Adamec, just 21 years old, started his first Harley-Davidson® dealership in New Jersey with an investment of $500. In 1962 he moved the entire dealership and his family to Florida.
Adamec Harley-Davidson® of Orange Park opened in July 1998. In October 2006 the Baymeadows Road store opened, a 65,000-plus square foot facility that is the largest of the Adamec dealerships. The full-service St. Augustine store followed in October 2019, alongside the retail store on St. George Street.
Today Mark and Chris Adamec, grandsons of the founder, own and run the stores: two in Jacksonville, one in Orange Park and one in St. Augustine, with one of the deepest Harley-Davidson® inventories in Florida.
